I had such a great experience here. They were pretty busy on a Saturday night but we had reservations so there was no wait time. With old Cuban style decor, the vibe was nice. The food was absolutely delicious. The mango butter with the Cuban bread was delicious. Churrasco a la Cubana was tender, juicy and flavorful which hubby loved. Chino-Cubano pork belly was the perfect appetizer. The Pescao Frito was a perfectly fried snapper with saffron rice. Finished the meal with some Cuban coffee and flan. For drinks hubby had their rum punch and I had the zero proof Cuba Libre Sling both were wonderful. After 11 they turned into lounge with good music and vibes. Overall a great experience

Just wow! We were told by the bartender at Gin Rickie's to try it out and order the Goucho. Go hungry. This is enough for two or three people if you're light eaters. Excellent flavors with every bite. Sweet tea made with sugar!!! Great for us southern folks. Excellent service and atmosphere is nice and warm. Even gave praise to the "grill god" as we were leaving. Yes the price is steep, but this was worth the price. We left with leftovers and full bellies.

Very cool restaurant inside. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the meat being smoked. Food is great--we loved the mango cinnamon butter. It took a while to get our food even though it wasn't super busy, so probably not the best choice if you're in a rush. Turns into a club-vibe later on weekends.

Good Cuban food and martinis, what more can a girl ask for?! I stopped in here with a group of girls for dinner, during a bachelorette weekend. Our drinks came out fast and my espresso martini was DELICIOUS, and strong. For the table we went with the cha cha cha sampler and I am so glad we did! We got a lil bit of everything and the plantain chips were really good!! For my entree I went with the ropa vieja; I felt like I was being hugged from the inside. This was a delicious, well made dish, that was perfectly seasoned. The restaurant wasn't too overly busy when we were here and the service was fast! I highly recommend.

Cuba Libre is always an exceptional dining experience. Aside from the exemplary service and the tropical decor....the food is always on point and the drinks are well crafted. During today's visit, I ordered a Coconut Mojito and it was VERY GOOD. The coconut flakes, combined with the mint leaves, make this an ideal drink. The complimentary bread that is served here is like no other. The bread is always warm and the honey/cinnamon spread makes every bite mouthwatering. For entrees, we ordered the Dragon Street Meatballs (From Havana's Chinatown. Chino-Latino glazed pork and beef meatballs, ginger, honey, soy, ropa vieja jus, toasted sesame seeds, grilled artisan bread) and they were AMAZING. They serve a total of six and a sweet sauce adds to the complete enjoyment of this item. Sides of white rice black beans, and yuca frita were also delectable. I also enjoy how the check was presented in a classy cigar box and how Cuba Libre is all about attention to detail, from start to finish.

I visited Cuba Libre in Atlantic City during Restaurant Week on October 10th, 2024, and it was a mixed experience with some highlights worth mentioning. The complimentary toasted bread with mango butter was an absolute standout--probably my favorite part of the meal aside from the flan with its perfectly paired sugar cookie. I wish that cookie was available as a standalone dessert because it was amazing! The ambiance was beautiful and vibrant, with a fun and festive atmosphere. However, the videos playing in the background felt a bit dated and could use an update to match the energy of the restaurant. The tables were set flawlessly, and our server was exceptional--extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant's history, which added a nice touch to the experience. I'll admit I was a little disappointed with the limited menu options for Restaurant Week, but I had checked ahead and decided on the Pollo Asado, which included marinated citrus chicken, roasted garlic, mashed potatoes, grilled broccolini, and passion fruit gravy. While the sides were enjoyable, I found the chicken to be somewhat bland, which was a letdown. My partner ordered the Ropa Vieja, a braised, shredded, and stewed beef brisket with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, red wine, and white rice. He absolutely loved his dish, saying he could taste every ingredient blending together beautifully--it really hit the mark for him! The flan dessert was a perfect way to end the meal--rich, creamy, and complemented by that incredible sugar cookie. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation of all the dishes. I was hoping to stay for the dancing, but I was too tired that evening. However, I've danced here before, and I can confidently recommend it--it's an incredible time and adds so much to the experience for anyone looking for a lively night out. Overall, Cuba Libre has some definite highlights and an enjoyable vibe, though I'd say it's a bit overhyped in certain aspects. I'll definitely return to give the dancing another go and explore more of their menu.

Review Update: After posting my initial review and concerns on Monday, 12/2, we were contacted the next day by the restaurant Manager, Hasaan, and it happened to be our last night staying at The Tropicana. Hasaan was first and foremost professional which was definitely reassuring considering my last experience. He was sincerely kind and empathetic about the negative experience we had with their employee and asked that we offer the restaurant an opportunity to make it better for us. We accepted the invitation and went for dinner that same evening prior to our comedy show upstairs. We had a delightful time, from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. As I mentioned previously, Cuba Libre is always a good time, especially for foodies like us! The Gaucho for two is definitely a must try if you have not already! This has been our go-to platter every time we come! The steak is cooked to your liking, and my bday boy opted for medium-rare and the chef certainly delivered! Thank you so much, Hasaan, and the Cuba Libre Team for making this 2nd chance experience pure perfection for my partner and I. They also gave him a handwritten bday card which was such a lovely touch! You guys put such a big smile on our face and we thank you so much for making this experience so special for us. Mil gracias, y salud!

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was a phenomenal experience. They're tucked inside the Tropicana Hotel in the back, so it may be a bit hard to find. I had a reservation and was seated promptly. Drinks: Mojito Pitcher ($60) - We got the mango flavor which was good. CORE Patron Passion Fruti Margarita ($16) - While you're getting a good drink, Cubre Libre also donates money to CORE for every Patrón Passion Fruit Margarita purchased in 2024. Cuba Libre and Patrón will together donate $2 per cocktail, up to $15,000 in support of CORE's mission. CORE is a national nonprofit providing financial support to food & beverage service employees with children, facing a life-altering medical crisis or natural disaster. Appetizers: Garlic Shrimp ($20) - consisting of shrimp, garlic, lemon, smoked paprika, olive oil, with grilled artisan bread. Loved the flavoring and the richness of this dish. Sad I only had one since I had to share with my party. Plato Cha Cha Cha ($33.50) - Sampler for two (or for the table) which consists of guacamole Cubano, shrimp cocktail, pork masitas, chicken & ham croquetas, grilled chorizo sausage, chicken chicharrones, black bean hummus, plantain chips. This is a great dish to order for the table to split with everyone. You may not get to try everything, but it's only an appetizer after all. Entrees: Plato Gaucho Mixed Grill for Two ($90) - A sizzling platter of skirt steak, lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, citrus marinated, grilled double chicken breast, chorizo sausage. Chimichurri sauce, salsa criolla. This entree platter has an array of protein compared to an all out pork feast as listed below. Something for everyone and grilled to perfection. Cuban Pork Feast for Two ($74) - The presentation of this is phenomenal which is served on a pig. As you may have figured, this entree is everything pork, consisting of citrus marinated, slow roasted pork shoulder, onion-caper mojo, guava BBQ baby back pork ribs, Chino-Cubano glazed grilled pork belly. Are you drooling? I certainly am! Paella Marinera ($41.50) - Essentially a seafood paella which comes with jumbo shrimp, lobster tail, mussels, squid, Baja Bay scallops, claw crabmeat, long grain saffron rice, roasted piquillo pepper salad. Was craving paella and this hit the spot. Dessert: Havana Banana Split ($26) - Giant loaded ice cream sundae with vanilla pastry cream, brownies, vanilla and chocolate ice creams, fresh banana, dulce de leche, chocolate and butterscotch sauce, candied macadamia nuts, strawberries, fresh whipped cream. They were not kidding when they said it was loaded and I also did not expect an entire brownie to be hidden in the banana split. Needless to say, just order this and split it with the table.
